Alia or Shraddha – who will get the chance in ‘Rock On’ sequel ?

A story around the four band members and their friendship went on to become the most cherished movie in 2008. Yes we are talking about the film ‘Rock On’. The film also marked the debut of Farhan Akhtar who later on was flooded with multiple film offers for his acting skills. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film ‘Rock On’ bagged National awards for Best Feature Film in Hindi and Best Supporting Actor.

Buzz is that Alia Bhatt has been approached for the sequel of this hit movie and Alia has given a positive response. These days Alia Bhatt is the hot favorite among the filmmakers due to her versatility in portraying her roles. She has become the number one choice within Bollywood. Alia is currently busy shooting ‘Shaandar’ with Shahid Kapoor in UK. She has also signed one more project with Ranbir Kapoor which is still untitled.

According to a source from the unit, “The makers want a young actress with a sexy vibe. Most importantly, they were looking for someone who is also a good singer and can record her own tracks.” Alia made her singing debut in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Highway’ with Suha Sa followed by Samjhawan in ‘Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania’. However, the contract is not yet signed and the filmmakers are also in talk with Shraddha Kapoor whose Teri galiyan track from ‘Ek Villain’ was a hit. She also recorded a Kashmiri folk song for ‘Haider’.

Prachi Desai and Shahana Goswami who played supporting roles in ‘Rock On’ are likely to return in the sequel. But “there will be more clarity on this soon”, added the source. Abhishek Kapoor who directed ‘Rock On’ will not be in director’s seat this time. ‘Rock On’ was his directorial debut. He is currently busy with ‘Fitoor’, an adaptation of Charles Dicken’s Great Expectations. ‘Rock On‘ sequel will be directed by a newcomer.

‘Rock On 2’ surely seems to be a much awaited sequel. Alia or Shraddha who will bag the lead role and who will rock it this time, let’s wait and watch!
