Mohit Suri to direct film of Chetan Bhagat’s novel Half Girlfriend

“Once upon a time, there was a Bihari boy called Madhav. He fell in love with a girl called Riya. Madhav didn’t speak English, Riya did. Madhav wanted a relationship, Riya didn’t. Riya wanted friendship, Madhav didn’t. Riya suggested a compromise. She agreed to be his half girlfriend.”
Half Girlfriend is a love story revolving around emotions. Desi boy Madhav, the Bihari hero falls for the upper class, English speaking and high society girl Riya. He wanted to be in a relationship with her, she wanted something else. She wanted friendship, he wanted love. Riya suggested a solution. She agreed to be his Half Girlfriend. Chetan Bhagat’s latest love dovey novel revolves around refreshing plot. His book is not even launched in the market and Aashiqui 2, Ek Villan director Mohit Suri has decided to direct his book already. He believes in brand Chetan. Chetan Bhagat confirmed the news on micro blogging site twitter. He tweeted three tweets regarding the news.

Chetan Bhagat is most loved author. 2 states is the latest adaptation of his novel. Half Girlfriend is his sixth novel to be adapted into a film. Three Idiots is based on Five point Someone, Hello is based on One Night at the Call Center, , Kai Po Che is based on The Three Mistakes of my life, 2 states is based on 2 states The Story of My Marriage , Revolution 2020 is based on an upcoming and untitled movie.

Mohit Suri is expecting to start shooting for the film next year, after wrapping up his current work schedule. The film will be shot in Bihar, Delhi and New York. Currently he is working on “Humari Adhuri Kahani” and remaking a French movie “Intouchables”. The cast and crew are not finalized yet.
“Half Girlfriend’ will release on Oct 1, 2014, or in just about two weeks. Can’t wait for you guys to read it”- added Bhagat.
Mohit Suri is a well known director. On 29 January 2013, he got married to Udita Gowsami. His worked on Zeher, Kaliyug, Awarapan, Crook, Raaz, Murder 2, Ek Villain and Aashiqui 2. He made his directorial debut with movie Zehar. It was released on 25 March 2005. Mohit’s mother is the younger sister of renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Bhatt sisters, Pooja Bhatt and Alia Bhatt and serial kisser Emraan Hashmi are his cousins.
