PK: A memorable film shooting for Sanjay Dutt
In what could be the most awaited film of 2014, here’s how actor Sanjay Dutt bagged the role of Aamir Khan’s best friend, Bhairon Singh in the upcoming film PK. Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra was looking for a big man to focus and highlight on the films central character. Hence Sanjay Dutt came up in his mind.
Sanjay Dutt, the then bad boy of Bollywood, made the most of his presence on the sets of the film.
The director Raju Hirani was singing all praises for the actor. He said, “I have seen a huge change in Sanju’s personality over the years. He used to be half-an-hour early on the sets every day. Sanju is a sweetheart. Wherever he goes, he makes everyone happy.”
Sanjay Dutt is known to be a hard-working actor and the director seems to like the fact that the actor can carry off any look and costume with ease. From the posters of the film, Dutt will be seen wearing a traditional bandwala costume – along with a turban and moustache. He will also be seen playing an honest best friend.
On the sets, the bandwalas and crew members went a step further to celebrate his wedding anniversary with Maanyata Dutt by his side along with his little girls Shahraan and Iqra.
But post this, the last day of the shooting was an emotional one – not because the shooting was over but because the fun-loving and friendly actor was sent to Yerawada Jail in Pune to serve the remaining five year sentence of the 1993 Bombay (Mumbai) Blasts.
Everyone related to the film has a close connection with Sanjay Dutt especially Vidhu Vinod Chopra as Dutt constantly writes him letters.
“Sanjay is so close to me that I feel his presence all the time,” he added.
The shooting of the third sequel to Munnabhai, is stalled as the producer is awaiting the release of his favourite actor from jail.
PK has been grabbing eyeballs for the tremendous personalities related to the film. The film is a Christmas gift to one and all. It will be releasing on December 19, 2014 (9 days left).
