Bigg Boss 8 – Soni Evicted After Raising Eyebrows With Her and Upen
It was Soni Singh who was eliminated in the latest episode of Bigg Boss (October 26th). The Sunday episode opened with 4 unsafe contestants – Sonali, Diandra, Minissha and Soni. After declaring Sonali and Diandra safe, it was down to Minissha and Soni. Salman, true to his style, initially hinted at Minissha getting eliminated, but it was ultimately Soni who had to leave the glass walled house.
The exit saw quite a few tears from Soni and even Sushant who continued to shed them even after Soni had left the house. He and Sonali spoken about how Soni deserved to stay with Sushant even being extremely vocal about his thoughts on how Minissha should have been the one to go.
But it wasn’t just the elimination that kept Soni in the limelight this weekend. It was also her relationship with Upen that came under scanner on Saturday.
SONI-UPEN, NOT BROTHER-SISTER LIKE?
It’s no secret that Soni and Upen have formed a close bond and look at each other as brother and sister. This weekend however, saw a lot of raised eyebrows regarding her and Upen’s brother-sister relationship. It all started with the caller of the week telling Soni and Upen that their relationship seemed to be coming out differently, and not that of a brother and sister’s. Soni and Upen, both were clearly disgusted by the comment, with Upen even saying that it’s all in the mind of the person. Soni clarified that this is how she behaves with her brother back home too, and that she has nothing more to say. Even after the call ended, Soni continued to remain disturbed about the perception the outside world is getting of her and Upen. Other housemates were quick to come in and pacify her, and telling her that they all knew and saw that what is between her and Upen is nothing how the caller described.
A DIFFERENT STORY AFTER ELIMINATION
It was only when Soni came out and met Salman did she realize that a few contestants had been speaking about her and Upen in not such a tasteful manner, particularly Puneet Issar and Gautam. She brought up the topic with the two of them and told them how disappointed she was with their actions and did not expect them to behave like this. Soni even pulled up Praneet for not standing up for her, while they made fun of her. All three men tried reasoning with Soni about their behaviour, but the television actress was clearly upset.
While there was a lot of unnecessary drama surrounding Soni and Upen’s relationship, we have to give it to both of them for handling it in such a calm and mature manner. But with Soni out now, we’re curious to see who Upen’s new confidant will be!
