CODE RED: A New Ray Of Hope
For the last few weeks the promos of CODE RED featuring Sakshi Tanwar as the presenter has been doing the rounds on COLORS. This show will go on air this Monday i.e. January 19th, 2015.
The show can be seen as a wave of fresh change in the league of the on-going crime based shows. This one is up with a blend of reporting, hope and awareness. The show shall see prominent faces like Sakshi Tanwar, Tisca Chopra, Yash Sinha and Manish Chaudari in significant roles.
It was launched with a panel discussion involving powerful women earlier this week. The first IPS officer of India and now a Leader of BJP, Kiran Bedi was also a part of the launch programme. The panel discussion took place at Hindu College, Delhi, aiming at the youth’s involvement in this much necessary discussion.
Manish Chaudari plays a NGO representative and Yash Sinha plays a journalist in the show. Manish is best-known for his role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rocket Singh while Yash Sinha has been a part of several daily soaps and also took part in the last season of popular dance reality show Nachh Baliye.
The show is to be divided into three segments. Each segment’s name is suggestive of the content. ‘Umeed’ features stories of people who have suicidal tendencies, ‘Awaaz’ on violence against women and children, and how they must raise a voice against it, because keeping quiet will only make things worse and ‘Chakravyuh’ will deal with the various physical and psychological entrapment people face. There will be six episodes for each that will run in a span of three weeks.
The launch event was backed up by other powerful people like Senior Journalist Nalini Singh and Twitter India head Rishi Jaitley.
The people present at the event were encouraged to break their silence and spread the message digitally via social media tools like twitter with the hashtag #KhamoshiTodo.
“With ‘Code red’, we are going a step further by showcasing stories of human frailties and urging people to speak up on issues that are disturbing to them and the people around them. It is not just a show but a movement to get people believe that hope can be found,” said Raj Nayak, CEO Color – as reported by Indian Express.
With this new show from colors the audience surely will be able to taste a brand new platter of emotions, knowledge and awareness over plain entertainment. Hopefully, this venture by Colors is able to gain as much popularity as its other fiction and reality t.v. content and reach the audience in positive ways. The show promos were already promising and the panel discussion at the launch event has only made it better. We hope the team’s Noble motive comes out with flying colors.
