5 reasons why Stardust Award was a tacky affair
For years award functions and ceremonies have had credibility issues but this one got our doubts rocketing into space. The Sansui Stardust awards that concluded last evening did honor some great talents in the industry but sorry people you still bungled up big time! We now know why most of the stars ditched the event. Read to find out.

When you decide to honour Big B you better find someone legendary to present the award. C’mmon people, you could have done better than Raveena Tondon. Well we are sure that it would have been an honour for Ms. Tondon but Stardust, seriously, it wasn’t in good taste.

More than an award function to recognize great performances it seemed like a gig to please King Khan. Hey! Why else would someone in their right mind name epic dud like Happy New Year as Film Of The Year?

And that’s not just that! We have more. The nail in the coffin was when Farah Khan was given the Dream Director award. When was the last time Farah Khan gave the viewers a movie that didn’t send them into a semi-coma state? We might not know about movies more than you but we know that Dream directors don’t direct headaches.

And just about when we were thinking that the nightmare is over, there it hit us like Wham! Sonu Sood was given the award for Best Villain for ‘Entertainment’! At this point, we really need to ask you Stardust, Who the hell was on the Jury Panel? Let us all take a guess!
Someone has to be really blind. Like blinder than a bat to choose Mr. Sood over great performances by KK Menon and Ritesh Deshmukh.

And then came the award where Stardust gave themselves totally away. They honored SRK with award titled as Best Actor-Thriller/Action. At this juncture the last drop of sanity left our bodies. Which action/thriller movie did King Khan dish out last year? Or maybe it was just screened to the Jury members because we don’t remember King Khan doing some real action.
Award ceremonies are much more than elaborate performances, giant sets and all that Hullaballoo. Their concept is to embrace, reward and encourage good work in cinema. There is already a lot of things wrong with this country don’t make Bollywood a part of it. We think you just lot a considerable amount of credibility there Stardust!
