Chitrangada Singh is all set to turn producer with a biopic on former Indian hockey captain, Sandeep Singh’s life. The sportsperson, who is in the UK, playing for Hampshire County currently, confirmed in an interview that Chitrangada Singh had bought the rights to make a film on his life and also spoke about his excitement on people seeing his story on celluloid soon.
The Hockey player also revealed his favourite movie star was Ranbir Kapoor and he would love the actor to play his role in the movie. He also praised the actor for his role in ‘Rocket Singh’ and added that he was very convincing as a Sikh. The former Hockey skipper also added that ultimately, it is the producer who will take a call on this.
The movie on the Hockey player’s life will definitely be one to watch out for, because his story is easily, one of the most inspiring stories that the sports field has seen. Sandeep made his international debut in 2004. In 2006, while on his way to join the national team due to leave for the World Cup in Germany two days later, he was shot by an accidental gunshot in the Shatabdi train. The player was almost paralyzed and was wheel chair bound for almost the following two years. The player however, made a spectacular come back, established himself back in the team and even went on to become the captain of Indian National Team in January 2009.
