All That You Should Know About Sushant Singh Rajput
After playing the adorable Sarfaraz in PK, Sushant Singh Rajput’s Byomkesh Bakshi is the most awaited film for fans.
This 29-years old actor hails from Patna and has been an engineering student at Delhi University. However, Sushant dropped in the third year to pursue his dream. We wonder what a gem the industry would have missed if he didn’t have enough courage.
On his Birthday today, here is a list of interesting trivias that every fan must know about this rising star-
Awards To His Credit
Though he has won only two awards in his film career till now, he has bagged eight of them for his roles on the small screen.
Background Dancer
His story will give you a dejavu of Shahid Kapoor. Just like Shahid started as a background dancer in Shamak Davar’s dance troop, he performed many times on the Filmfare award stage as a background dancer before he was spotted by soap queen Ekta Kapoor who gave him his first break in the daily soap Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil; and since, there has been no looking back.
Marriage on the cards
Sushant is basking in glory and in this career high, if reports are to be believed, he celebrated the New Year with long-time girlfriend and television actress Ankita Lokhande and proposed her for marriage on New Year’s Eve. Maybe they get hitched by the end of 2015.
If this happens, the event will definitely be an adorable one keeping in mind how Sushant has remained loyal to his lady even after he surpassed her in terms of success, with a jump from T.V to the Silver Screen, and achieved considerable amount of critical appreciation.
Didn’t Get Along With Anushka Sharma
Sushant Singh Rajput and Anushka Sharam no matter looked extremely lovable on screen, the romantic chemistry was not easy to develop. They were initially not very fond of each other and Anushka even passed some not so pleasant remarks about her co-actor publically. However, with the passage of time the two bonded and thus achieved the on-screen warmth and comfort we saw in the film.
Did PK For FREE
When Raju Hirani offered Sushant a role in PK, he was very clear that the role is a small one, however, important. Sushant immediately took it and said he would do it out of respect for Hirnai, even if he just has to simply walk from one end to another.
And icing to the cake is, he was paid Rs 20 as the signing amount which he has supposedly framed and kept with him, and never charged anything more from Hirani for playing Sarfaraz in PK. Yes, he did it for free!
Moreover, Hirani discovered that Sushant is a book-lover and therefore later sent him a pile of books on films and film-making as a token of love after the success of PK. Sushant posted this picture with it –
Ads In His Kitty
He appeared in a Lux commercial right after the release of Kai Po Che. The ad also featured his girlfriend Ankita Lokhande and the face of lux Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Later, he took over as the new face of Garnier (Men), which was earlier endorsed by John Abraham. And with the coming of 2015, he has bagged two new commercials – Nescafe and Pizza Hut.
So, now don’t be astonished when you go shopping at a mall and see Sushant all over!
Script Over Friends
Good script has always been his priority, so much so that he refused a film opposite Katrina Kaif. Yes, he did!
And that too is directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the same director who gave him his first break. Sushant instead went for Paani, being directed by Shekhar Kapoor. After having seen him in films like Kai Po Che, Shudh Desi Romance and PK and knowing that MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Byomkesh Bakshi are the films he will be appearing in next, we can completely trust his decision, isn’t it?
Making a place when there is an array of new actors from filmy families and links, it was obviously not easy for this young star to even enter Bollywood. But he has now made his way after considerable struggles and become an inspiration for many dreamers.
