Salman Khan quits ‘Bigg Boss’ ! Akshay Kumar & Ranveer Singh approached?

Yes, you heard it right! Salman Khan quits ‘Bigg Boss’. He has finally confirmed that he won’t be part of the next season. Salman Khan was the host of Bigg Boss for the last five consecutive years and has asked the makers of the show to find a replacement for him. But this does not come to us as a surprise because we all know Salman was blamed for being partial to Tanisha Mukherjee and Arman Kohli in the last season and had got into a tiff with the makers. He then had asked the makers to find a replacement and even suggested Shahrukh Khan’s name for ‘Bigg Boss 8’.

Salman has been the best host of ‘Bigg Boss’ and is known for his cool dude approach to the show. It was difficult for the creators of the show to convince Salman to host ‘Bigg Boss 8’ and after much pleading, Salman finally agreed to host it.

In an interview to Hindustan Times Salman said “The problem is that you have to put in that much of time in the show. You have to watch all episodes daily to find out what happened and why. Then the host has to analyse those situations. Despite doing your best, you still have problems with the channel and contestants. The channel also wants you to say something and you don’t want to. It’s a lot of taam jhaam (hassle) … a lot of stuff goes on”. Salman Khan is already working on two films simultaneously and has a very hectic schedule. With his sister Arpita’s wedding this month he will surely have a packed schedule with no time for anything else.

Meanwhile, according to sources, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar have been approached to host the next season. However, no confirmations have been received yet. Akshay Kumar has displayed his hosting skills in ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and ‘Dare 2 dance’. However, Ranveer Singh will be a newcomer to host a reality show.
There’s no doubt that the creators of ‘Bigg boss’ know the importance of Salman as the host. Salman was one of the reasons the TRPs of the show were high all these years.

Now that Salman has said goodbye to the show, who will fit in his shoes- Ranveer or Akshay? Will the next host be as entertaining as Salman or will the coming seasons be bit boring without Salman?
