The soulful musical alliance to spread awareness on women empowerment
Music is the most powerful weapon one can fight with any social issue. And when two of greatest music maestros join hands, the impact is beyond one’s imagination. Women empowerment, the most talked about social issue has now got a new leverage when the voice of nation, Lata Mangeshkar and the magician of music A.R.Rahman have come on board together to deliver the most beautiful depiction possible on women empowerment through their recently launched music video on the song titled Laadli- the Raunaq of Life. The song is one of the creations assorted as an album titled Raunaq – A Conversation of Mystery and Poetry, by A.R. Rahman.
Comprising beautiful lyrics penned by Kapil Sibal, the song describes how the journey from a girl to a woman is a blissful creation of moments and how a woman becomes the light of hope, love and compassion and most importantly strength in each one’s life. The video is about a narration of how a young woman achieves accomplishments which are at par with men by becoming the pilot of a fighter aircraft, while having the compassionate and loving motherly figure within and also a sprightly nature of a teenage girl. The narration is depicted through amazing visuals and is directed by talented Bejoy Nambiar. There are moments in the video where the images tend to go back to its root, which summarizes the entire essence of human life. The moving poetry of Kapil Sibal, combining with soulful music by Rahman and magical voice of Lata Mangeshkar and of course brilliant direction by Bejoy Nambiar, the video Laadli, and also the entire album is dedicated to the #VogueEmpower campaign. This campaign is a one-of-a-kind initiative taken by Vogue India to celebrate the special occasion of their 7th anniversary on October.
