Lessons from ‘Bigg Boss’ Salman Khan
For all those people who accuse reality show’s content because of the stigma it carries, here’s a justification; thanks to ‘Bigg Boss’ – the zenith of reality TV in India learnt the do’s and dont’s of touching a woman. Don’t you remember Salman defending Tanisha in the last season? It seems that history is repeating itself this time as well…
If you are not much aware then watch ‘Bigg Boss’ and get a glimpse of the unnatural world. Contestants starve for fame, ranging from ‘stars’ to ‘non stars’are locked in a set which lacks personal space. Hosted by Salman Khan, ‘Bigg Boss’ has millions of viewers ranging across classes. So when a programme like this actually ends up doing some good and imparting wisdom to viewers, it is actually an irony. This season of ‘Bigg Boss’ seems to be all about Women Empowerment.
A couple of weeks back, Arya Babbar falsely accused Minisha Lamba of being his ex-girlfriend even after she denied to it. He was chastised by Salman Khan, the champion of women, who told Arya to refrain from such announcements when the girl is denying.
The next incident took place when Ali (a singer and also the captain of the house) was talking to Sonali Raut and model Upen Patel. Sonali and Upen were chatting and cuddling under a blanket, while Ali was talking to them,and sitting near their feet. Ali was then seen touching Sonali in an unacceptable manner. Sonali’s reaction was a very clichéd one like in old hindi movies. Ali was later seen stating that he had touched her just out of fun. He further said that he had just reciprocated to Sonali’s touching his hair and shoulder time and again.
What was really impressive was the reaction of other contestants, none of whom are fond of Sonali but there is nothing to worry about since Ali has been punished and banned from performing future tasks. Let’s see what knowledge does Salman Khan has to impart on this in the coming weekend…
